Students who studied 10+2 in Arts also have a wide range of subject combinations to choose from. However, they need to make the correct choice of subject combination at the BA level. There are a lot of good colleges in India with advanced faculties in Arts. So, determining career goals first before filling out the admission form is important.

Usually, students go for BA and BA (Hons). Over the last few years, they have several other undergraduate courses as well that they can consider for their higher studies. BFA, BSW, BJMC, and B.Lib are some other career options.

BA or BA (Hons): Bachelor of Arts is still the most favorite subject for candidates who passed their 10+2 exams with Arts stream. Candidates can get admission to BA in their favorite subjects either through direct admission or through marks obtained at the entrance exams conducted by colleges.

You can choose from subjects ranging from Mathematics to English, Political Science, History. Geography, Philosophy and more.

If you are creative and believe in the power of writing and journalism, then this is the right option for you.

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA): Creative candidates who enjoy painting and drawing can opt for this course. It is highly effective for students who want to make a career into visual arts. It can be a stepping stone for careers in interior designing of homes, cars, hotels, government buildings and more.

For some reputed Arts Colleges, you may still need to pass their respective entrance exam with the minimum cut-off marks.

Career Options for Science Students

Class 12th students usually study Physics and Chemistry with either Mathematics or Biology (Botany and Zoology). Some of the educational prospects that they can explore are:

B.Sc.: It’s also called Bachelor of Science. Both PCM and PCB students can choose to enrol in this three-year programme.

You can choose to do a Pass or Honours course. There are several career opportunities for students as scientists, researchers and academicians.

Options with PCM

B.Tech: Bachelor of Technology is a popular course for PCM students. You have the choice of becoming an engineer in different fields such as computer software engineer, electronics and communication, automobile engineer, aerospace engineer, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and more. It is one of the most popular courses across India.

BCA: Bachelor of Computer Application means you are studying computer science for the four-year programme. As a career option, it is perfect for candidates looking to establish careers in the world of digital and data.

After completing your BCA, you can get professional qualifications in the field of Data Science, and Big Data. Other options that you can choose are web development, graphic designing, and .website administration

Both B.Tech and BCA students today have the opportunity to explore the world of Data Science. Students can use the knowledge of computer languages, programming and mathematics, to help manage data and unearth the trends that the data hides. Businesses and governments, across the world, are turning to such scientists to create policies that will better outputs—an IBM listing where states that jobs for Data Scientists are expected to grow to approximately 2,720,000. Given the huge demand, it is a lucrative field for PCM candidates to know about.

B.Arch: A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is a five-year graduation course which gives them knowledge of the science behind building construction. Combining PCM with engineering drawing or computer science is highly recommended for Class 12 students. All candidates also need to pass NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) to get admission in the recognised colleges.

You can combine architecture with interior design to create buildings and interiors that others will love to copy!

Options With PCB

MBBS: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the most popular education option for students studying PCB. The five-and-a-half-year course readies students for the rigorous demands of a doctor surgeon. The specializations you can choose from are many, and it is considered one of the most rewarding opportunities. Many doctors shift from the field to focus on research and create path-breaking treatment options.

You can pursue MBBS from any medical colleges approved by MCI (Medical Council of India).

BDS: Students will have to undergo a five-year Bachelor in Dental Surgery course to become a dentist. It is the first choice of many students who want to become doctors minus the pressure of a surgeon or doctor of medicine. Students who complete the course can choose to become dental surgeons.

You will be a certified doctor after the course and have the choice to start your practice or join a hospital.

B.Pharma: A Bachelors in Pharmacy is another lucrative course for PCB students. It’s basically a four-year course, and you can start practicing as a chemist after completion. Candidates with a B.Pharma degree are preferred for Medical companies as Medical Representative (MR) with a good salary package and other perks.

You can also join research labs across the world looking to create breakthrough treatment for many diseases and infections.

B.Sc-Nursing: It’s a four-year course and is approved by the Indian Nursing Council. You can get admission into the B.Sc-Nursing course by cracking any of the entrance examinations conducted by various states for their respective colleges.

Paramedics: There are several other Paramedical courses as well that students can pursue after 10+2. Paramedical courses are specialized courses that relatively take sub-specialization at a particular domain. Paramedical professionals are equally in demand like doctors. Some of the popular paramedical courses are ECG technology, anesthesia, lab technician, and others. These courses require a minimum of four years of full-time study and practice.

Considering the overall medical scenario in India, medical professionals like doctors, paramedics, and nursing staff are in huge demand. The WHO had recommended an ideal doctor to patient ratio at 1: 1000, but in India, the figure comes down to 1:1700. Therefore, the country still needs a lot of doctors and medical professionals.

What's next after engineering in computer science?

litearly Two way : 1. Higher Studies or 2. Job

I dont want to tell you theories. Its complete reality.

why higher studies ?

How many engineers in India or ( just in Bangalore) come out every year ?

Around 2.5 to 3.5 million engineers comes out ( info taken from survey conducted in 2016) and hardly few thousands opt for higher studies. ( Be it anything, MS, MTech or MBA)

So as first option , You should opt for masters in great colleges. If i was you, I would like to get my masters from IISC or IIT. So write gate and get into IISC or atleast into some IITs.

Masters candidates will be preferred going further. for ex: A company X (name hidden) who used to outsource projects to Indian companies like HCL, TechM, Wipro, Igate or even similar genera companies, stopped the same for their new project.

This drift is because, the companies in these cities hire masters graduates and charge way less than Indian outsourcing companies. its not just that, those candidates able to code from day-1. So definitely quality is better. I dint prefer to opt for Indian companies who can give me 3 candidates for 1 bill-ability, I would rather opt someone who can do job on behalf of all three.

So you should consider higher studies as your first option. I myself did same while opting for my career.

2. JOB

so why opting job is second option. I dint say you start your own startup or start contributing by yourself. You have to get into job, you have to learn the process on how it works, whats the business actually is ? contribute to the work you are doing, make a difference to company you are working. when you mature enough, you can think of starting your own company or something similar. So get into job, learn new technology and keep learning. It will bring goodness and confidence in you apart from money.

Finally its your call, no matter what you choose, don't regret. instead make it count.

Tips For Advancing Your Career The Right Way

In this day and age, everyone needs a job. Without one, you’re not going to have any money and that is going to make life incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, jobs are tough to come by. When you find one that is worth the time and energy, you’ll want to stick with it for as long as humanly possible. The good news is that there are plenty of things you can do to advance your career. Within this guide, you’re going to learn tips for advancing your career the right way.

Nail The Interview

First and foremost, it is true that you’re going to be required to sit through an interview. After all, nobody is going to hire you unless they know that you’re reputable and reliable. Therefore, they’ll want to learn as much as you as an individual as possible. In some cases, this may mean that you’re going to be required to participate in a phone interview. If this is the case, you should check out  to prepare. Familiarize yourself with the questions that are most likely going to be asked and go from there.

Educate And Educate

Most people believe that their education is over when they graduate from college. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, you should continue your education for as long as humanly possible. Remember that your career field is constantly changing. Therefore, you should work diligently to continue furthering your education. By doing so, you’ll be able to find new career opportunities. And, you’ll be able to climb the ladder in your current industry. Suffice to say, it is in your best interest to further your education every step of the way.

Rely On Feedback

There is a pretty good chance that you’re going to receive feedback from time to time. You’ll get feedback from your boss and your co-workers. Initially, you may feel that they’re just being hard on you. This might be true, but it might not be. With that being said, you should most definitely use this feedback to your advantage. Take their advice into account and use it to improve yourself in every way possible. Their criticism might be tough to take, but you should always use it to your advantage.

Use Goals

Failing to have goals is going to set you back. You need goals in every aspect of life. Your career is no different. It is vital to set goals for your career. For instance, you should try selling 100 items a month. If you manage to achieve that goal easily, you can set a tougher goal. Could you realistically do 100 items a week? Goals can be very beneficial for keeping you motivated. Once you’ve achieved one, you’re going to feel more inspired and motivated to achieve another. Just remember to use realistic goals. If you do not, your goals might be too tough and they might backfire in the long run.

Networking

It is often about who you know. This is undoubtedly true in almost all industries. This is why it is absolutely vital to network as much as possible. Remember that you have friends and colleagues out there. Why shouldn’t you put these individuals to work for you? They might have job openings out there. If this is the case, you should use your relationships to obtain these good opportunities. Get out there and network as much as possible to expand your opportunities.

Find A Mentor

It is vital to have a mentor at this point. There is a good chance you know someone who has been successful in your industry. This individual has been there and done that. They understand your industry better than anyone else. Using their wisdom to your advantage will be very wise. Try to convince them to become your mentor. This will ensure that you have a helping hand every step of the way. Plus, you’ll obtain insight from someone who has already achieved what you wish to achieve.

Conclusion

Having a career is very important. Just remember that you should never stop. Once you’ve obtained a good job, you should continue working to improve your position within your industry. Following the aforementioned tips will prove to be immensely beneficial for this specific purpose in the long run.

Hottest IT Jobs & How to Prepare for Them

Have you ever felt yourself getting jealous when one of your coworkers gets a huge promotion? If you’re still working at a virtual help desk while all of your friends have been put in charge of their own IT teams, then you might even feel like the world is passing you by.

Don’t feel like you have to settle and work the same dead-end job for the rest of your life. The IT world is changing, and that’s creating numerous new opportunities for people who have your unique set of skills. Have a look at this list of the hottest IT jobs around and you might find something that won’t take you long to prepare for.

DevOps Expert

Tech companies have struggled to bridge the gap between programmers and technicians for years, which is why so many firms are now looking to hire DevOps experts. They’re looking for flexible people who are capable of writing and maintaining code as well as tackling the more mundane administration chores that a majority of businesses run into on a daily basis.

Perhaps most important is the fact that they’re looking for people who hold a DevOps certification. Getting this vaunted document isn’t difficult, especially if you have any experience in deploying apps or working as a part of a larger IT team. Most people should be able to complete a full in less than 60 hours, so you can probably gain a certification in your free time and still hold down your current job.

You might even be able to apply some experience from your current job toward a certification. If you’ve worked with Ansible or Docker, for instance, then you’re already ahead of the game.

Mobile App Developer

Plenty of pundits were saying that mobile app development is dead because most people only ever use the software that came stock with their phones. They were proven wrong as news broke that eBay sold more than $1.5 billion worth of products through its mobile app. That alone should prove that the market for mobile developers is more vibrant than ever before.

Best of all, you don’t have to do much preparation if you want to work in the field. One of the industry’s best kept secrets is that mobile developers are often multiplatform programmers who got their start writing apps for something other than consumer phones. Review your resumé and make it obvious that you have experience writing code for various environments. Employers will actually like the fact that you’re well-rounded.

Professional Data Scientist

Big data is quickly becoming big business, but there’s a lack of qualified personnel to fill all of the available positions. Companies are rushing to monetize the huge amounts of data they’ve collected, and they’re also trying to make better decisions by predicting their customer’s needs based on what they know about them. Fortunately, it might be relatively easy to burst into this segment of the market.

Perhaps you’ve managed spreadsheets or transactional databases in the past. You might have some experience with SQL or another fairly common platform. This is a great start. You might consider applying for a short refresher course on statistics, which can improve your chances of landing one of these coveted jobs. Consider taking a course on R programming as well, which is becoming extremely popular because one of biggest implementations of it went open-source.

IoT Specialist

Microsoft dropped a big bombshell when they announced that their IoT platform was going to have more in common with Unix than Windows NT. It seems like everyone needs to hire programmers who have traditional skills so they can get to work coding for embedded systems.

You’ll want to brush up on your C if you’re looking to apply for one of these jobs. More than likely, you’ll want to take a course on one of the new dialects that are coming out. These are going to power a new generation of IoT devices in the coming years.

InfoSec Researcher

It speaks volumes about the world we live in that network penetration testing was actually turned into a television drama. Companies are becoming terrified of the risk of major breaches, and GDPR agents are threatening legal action to those who leak customer data. Even embedded device manufacturers seem to be concerned, which is making infosec research a big business. Taking a few courses on the latest developments in firewall design and data encryption could be all you need to transition into this field.

Blockchain Administrator

News agencies have long been calling for an end to the cryptocurrency era, but countless firms have migrated unrelated workflows to cryptographic ledgers. Some Internet users have even turned to the technology to fight censorship.

How Can Students Deal with Difficulties in College?

Entering a college is the right decision that gives a lot of benefits to a person, but no one says that it’s an easy way. However, that’s the point. Higher education is your ticket to a successful life. And if you agree to apply to college, you should be ready to put a lot of effort and sacrifice your time, hobbies, and interests for the sake of a successful future.

Employers pay great attention to the education of prospective workers, and if you have a college degree, your chances to get a well-paid job are higher than the chances of those people who’ve finished school. But besides educational background, there’s also one thing that improves your image in the eyes of the employer. It’s your resume. A relatively small number of students who can create a top-notch paper without help. That’s why resume writing service gained tremendous popularity. Trust it to professionals and make the job-seeking process easier

The same applies to various assignments that make students’ life too complicated. It’s also possible to trust them to professionals and free some time for some other duties. However, the list of their challenges isn’t limited to academic load.

The Major Problems of Students and the Ways of Dealing With Them

If you’re only thinking about entering the college or you’re already studying and experience some difficulties, read the following information to become more informed about them and find the ways of dealing with them:

  • Student loan debt. A significant number of students have to borrow money to pay tuition fees. It puts a special responsibility on students. Sometimes parents can assist them in paying out this money, but in most cases, it’s students’ duty. To alleviate this burden, you may find a part-time job to easily combine it with studying.
  • Homesickness. Not all people can easily adjust to the new environment and stop missing home, family, and previous social circle. The best helper in such a situation is time. In the early days of your being on campus, you may make video calls to see your parents and feel their help or drive home every weekend.
  • Conflicts with people. You’ll have to live in a dorm room, and, unfortunately, you won’t be able to choose your neighbors. Even if you’re a calm and peaceful person, it doesn’t mean that you can avoid conflicts. Try to reach common ground, spend less time in your dorm room is you feel that the environment is quite unfriendly.
  • The lack of time. It’s the consequence of enormous academic load and the absence of time-management skills. You have to learn to do all assignments on time and don’t put them off. It may require big efforts, but remember that you can ask professional help at any time.
  • Constant stress. Studying is supposed to be useful, although, in reality, students are susceptible to stress and mental problems. The statistic shows that more than the help of all students experience some mental problems but are too shy to tell someone about their problems. Overlook the health and give yourself rest if you see the slightest change in your condition.
  • Academic major. After you’ve studied for a certain time, you have to choose your major. It presents another challenge. Decide what sphere you like most and make a deliberate decision.

Those people who only want to enter the university may read and wonder, “Whether it all worth it?”. We may surely answer – “yes.” It’s the greatest time, and you shouldn’t give up that because of some difficulties. If you have an aim, you’ll overcome them.
